We started out on our journey because we’re fiercely passionate about natural skincare. We’re in constant awe of the wonders of nature, the incredible ingredients born from it and how they nourish our skin, body and mind. The more we learned about skincare products in the Clean Beauty Industry today, the more we realised that these natural ingredients undergo much harsher processing than advertised. To name one example, many oils and butters (even the cold-pressed ones!) are actually chemically refined, including deodorisation via solvents, bleaching, etc. to fulfil a desired look and feel for a product. Not only are these extraction methods harsh on the ingredients – and ultimately, on our skin – but also harsh on the environment. 

This awareness set us on a path to bring the Industry something truly clean and natural, as well as sustainable. To do this, we had to reinvent how skincare products were made. This led us to our minimal intervention philosophy, built around the integrity of our ingredients, whereby only physical, mechanical or fermentation methods have been applied across the supply chain – from creation to formulation, from formulation to your skin. Our guarantee is that at least 95% of our ingredients achieve this standard of extraction without those harsh chemical solvents or additives. The other (maximum) 5% consist of only naturally-derived ingredients, which are thoroughly evaluated on its production processes and environmental impact, and are carefully selected for their active properties. Our formulations will always be free from synthetics, fragrances and highly-processed additives.

With minimal intervention at the core of our philosophy, our commitment to delivering a truly clean and natural pushed us even further beyond the boundaries of conventional skincare practices. Thus, we developed our innovative B.Y.O.W. skincare to ensure 

in response to the water waste and environmental impact of the Skincare Industry. Specially designed to be activated by water, our B.Y.O.W. range also decreases our carbon footprint in many other ways – from lower transportation requirements to eliminating highly-processed additives needed to stabilise water-based formulations. While most skincare products are bulked up with 70-80% water, our B.Y.O.W. formulations naturally deliver purer, more concentrated essential nutrients directly to your skin, complemented by our nourishing, unrefined oil blends.

Further lifting the Clean Beauty standard, we limit the use of resource-intensive ingredients such as essential oils, and cap our formulations at 15 ingredients in stark comparison to other skincare products on the market, which can contain up to 50! Our products are vegan & cruelty-free.
